NEW DELHI: All-rounder
Imad Wasim
's smoking video stirred up a major controversy during
Islamabad United
's final against Multan Sultans in Karachi on Sunday.
Imad getting caught on camera while smoking a cigarette inside the dressing room, overshadowed his side's title win as the all-rounder faced flak from all-around.
However, after the triumph, Imad had a response of his own, to the criticism over his viral smoking video as the 35-year-old was seen celebrating the title win with a smoking gesture after the game.
Holding a small girl in one arm while making a smoking gesture from the other hand added more drama to the night around Islamabad's title win.
However, apart from the smoking controversy, Imad also starred with both ball and bat during Islamabad's win over Multan in a tight contest.
Imad's five-for first allowed Islamabad to stop Multan to 159 for 5 and he then scored a crucial unbeaten 19 off 17 balls, taking his side across the line in the chase.
"Didn't know that it would go on to be the best ever tournament. Just wanted to have an impact on the team's win. It was a new experience - taking five wickets in the final. Took a lesson that we should've finished it one over earlier. I'm happy playing cricket. Trying my utmost to contribute for the team. 4-5 years of cricket left in me," Imad said while receiving the Player of the Match award after the game.
