Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hardly broke any sweat to enter the
IPL 2024
final when they cruised past Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday at Ahmedabad. KKR, who topped the points table in the league stage, defeated SRH by eight wickets as 'Player of the Match' Mitchell Starc set up Kolkata's win by limiting the Sunrisers to 159 with his spell of 3 for 34. The two-times former champions chased down the target in just 13.4 overs, thanks to unbeaten half-centuries by skipper Shreyas Iyer (58* off 24 balls) and Venkatesh Iyer (51* off 28).

After the win, Shah Rukh took a lap of the ground along with his daughter and younger son, when he suddenly stopped in front of a section of the crowd and performed the signature pose from his life on the silver screen, as Suhana and AbRam smiled looking at each other.

KKR's opponent in the final will be decided after Qualifier 2, which will be played between SRH and the team winning the Eliminator on Wednesday, where the 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Ahmedabad.
The Qualifier 2 is scheduled for May 24 and the final is on May 26, both in Chennai.
