In the video that is circulating on microblogging platform 'X', Shahnawaz is talking to a reporter, recalling his meeting with the Indian icon.
"He is a personality that people in the entire world crave to see, his followers, his fans. I am one of them. When he was there and I knew we had a match next week with India...there was a moment where I said to him 'aap Dhoni hain, mai Dahani hu'. He laughed a lot about it. After the match, I met him, got a picture clicked with him. He met me very warmly and the picture went viral. It was my dream to get clicked with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. That's an oustanding memory for me," Dahani told the reporter.
Dahani has played 2 ODIs and 11 T20Is for Pakistan. Dhoni is currently playing what could be his last Indian Premier League season, having retired from international cricket in 2020.
