NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Sunday marks the start of a warm trend as winds shift to the southwest behind a warm front.
Sunday started off the day with lots of clouds, but it became partly sunny as the day progressed. Temperatures should surpass 50 degrees with a strong wind.
Monday, periods of rain are expected beginning in the morning and running through the late afternoon. Precipitation amounts may reach a quarter of an inch. Highs are again expected to reach 50.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with some fog and drizzle possible. Temperatures will be even milder with highs in the mid-50s before more precipitation arrives on Wednesday with temperatures abnormally near 60 degrees.
Thursday, a cold front will arrive, bringing in noticeably colder temperatures that will only be in the upper 30s. The air will be dry into Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 30s.
