NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – The polls are officially open Tuesday for the primary election in New Jersey.
Polls in the state are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Some notable races aside from the presidential primary include the Democratic primary for New Jersey's 8th Congressional District. Voters will choose between incumbent Rep. Rob Menendez, whose father, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, is on trial on federal bribery charges, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, and real estate businessman Kyle Jasey. The district comprises parts of Newark, Elizabeth, and many towns in Hudson County.
Other key races to watch include the Democratic and Republican races for the U.S. Senate and the Democratic race in the 9th Congressional District between incumbent Rep. Bill Pascrell and challenger Mohamed Khairullah.
This year's Democratic primary will also not include the controversial "County Line" ballot design, where the ballot offered preferential placement to the county-endorsed candidate.
