Vodafone Idea rolls out eSIM services for prepaid users in these states: Here’s how to avail the service

has announced the launch of

eSIM services

for its

prepaid users

in

Maharashtra

and Goa. eSIM supports multiple profiles on a single device, so one can conveniently use a second sim card without removing primary sim.
How to get Vodafone Idea eSIM on their smartphone
Existing Customer
* Send an SMS with "eSIM <space> registered email id" to 199 to initiate the process

* If your email id is valid, you will receive a confirmation SMS. You would need to reply with "ESIMY" to confirm the eSIM change request within 15 mins of receiving the message
* Post your confirmation SMS, you will receive another SMS requesting consent over a call
* After providing your consent on call, you will receive a QR Code on your registered email id which you will have to scan by going to Settings > Mobile Data > Add data plan

* If needed, rename the data plan label for secondary SIM; else continue
* Choose the default line (Primary/Secondary) for your device and click Done
* Your eSIM will be activated within 30 minutes

* Customers can visit their nearest Vi store with their identity proof and follow the activation process, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience
* Additionally, Vi has enabled an online journey on www.myvi.in, for prepaid subscribers, further streamlining the activation process
Vodafone Idea eSIM is compatible with following smartphones
Vi eSIM is accessible to iOS and Android users. Below is the list of smartphones on which you can avail this service:
Apple: iPhone XR and above models
Samsung: Samsung Galaxy series such as Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung Galaxy S21 and so on.
Motorola: Motorola Razr, Motorola Next Gen Razr & Motorola Edge 40
Google: Google Pixel 3 and above.
Vivo: Vivo x 90 pro
To avail e-sim cards, eligible Vi customers can update their email ID by sending the SMS 'Email <space> Email ID' to 199. After registering their email ID, customers have to wait for 48 hours to avail the service via SMS.
