Vivo
is expected to launch its next generation foldable smartphones -- the
Vivo X Fold 3
and
Vivo X Flip 2
models in China soon. The Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t officially unveiled the exact launch date of the upcoming smartphones. However, a leaker has revealed a few details about the upcoming Vivo X Fold 3. In 2023, Vivo launched its foldable lineup in April.
The company is expected to launch the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Flip 2 smartphones in the same window.
A post shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media platform Weibo has revealed the sketch and some specifications of the Vivo X Fold 3.
Vivo X Fold 3: What to expect
As per the Weibo post, the camera design of the Vivo X Fold 3 is rumoured to see a slight change from its predecessor. The company may move the flash to the right and may include the
ZEISS
branding in the camera island. The tipster also hinted that the Vivo X Fold 3 is also likely to be thinner than its predecessor and may also launch as the lightest foldable phone in the industry.
The tipster also noted that the X Fold3 may come powered by Qualcomm’s latest
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
chipset. To compare, last year’s Vivo X Fold 2 featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The upcoming book-style foldable may retain the 50MP rear camera from its predecessor. However, the smartphone is also rumoured to get a new 50MP ultra-wide camera and a
64MP periscope telephoto camera
.
The Vivo X Fold 3 is also expected to use the proprietary V3 custom imaging chip and may support 4K 60fps video recording. The tipster mentioned that the imaging capabilities of the X Fold 3 may be equivalent to the Vivo X100 series. This will make the upcoming foldable smartphone the most powerful foldable phone in terms of camera capabilities, the leaker adds.
