Kohli, who has played for
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
(RCB) in his entire 17-year IPL career, has scored 542 runs in 11 matches this season to wear the Orange Cap as this edition's top run-getter so far.
Kohli's latest batting record was revealed by RCB in a social media post on Monday.
"16 players have scored 4000 runs in the IPL, but Virat is the only player to have scored 4000 IPL runs in a winning cause," said the caption alongside the post on microblogging platform 'X'.
RCB, who have never won the IPL title, have had another forgettable season so far. However, they have won their last three matches to keep their playofff hopes alive.
The Bengaluru franchise is currently No. 7 on the 10-team table with 8 points from 4 wins in 11 matches. They need to win their remaining three matches and hope for other results to be in their favour in order to have an outside chance of finishing in the top-four bracket
