Virat Kohli
and all-rounder
Ravindra Jadeja
are among the four nominees for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy awarded to the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year for 2023.
The other two players to have been nominated are Australia's World-Cup winning skipper
Pat Cummins
and the hero of the final
Travis Head
.
Kohli is vying for his third Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy following remarkable run-scoring achievements in 2023.
Last year, Kohli surpassed ICC Hall of Famer Sachin Tendulkar with a historic 50th ODI century and holds the Player of the Tournament accolade from CWC23. Additionally, he amassed an impressive total of 2048 international runs.
His stupendous run in the World Cup, helped India reach the finals. The batter hit 765 runs, the most by any player in any single edition of the World Cup.
Jadeja took 66 wickets - more than any other player - and recorded 613 runs across formats in 2023, providing valuable contributions in India's spin attack on their way to two finals.
