NEW DELHI: The crowd at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune fell silent as India’s star batter Virat Kohli missed a full toss from Mitchell Santner and lost his wicket in unexpected fashion during the second Test against New Zealand. Kohli had come to the crease after Shubman Gill’s dismissal to Santner. But in a rare misjudgment, Kohli failed to connect with a well-placed full toss, playing down the wrong line.
The ball slipped under his bat and crashed into the stumps, leaving Kohli visibly shocked and in disbelief at his dismissal.
As he made his way back to the pavilion, Kohli’s frustration was evident, clearly disappointed with the way his innings had ended. WATCH:
In the opening Test in Bengaluru, he had scored 0 and 70. India lost that match to New Zealand by eight wickets.
