Shivam Dube has backed Virat Kohli to roar back to form in the next set of matches in the T20 World Cup 2024. Dube affirmed that it would not take Dube a long time to silence his critics as he will let his bat do the talking soon. Kohli has suprisingly not turned up with a big innings in the marquee tournament so far. Despite coming off a brilliant form in IPL 2024 and boasting of a stellar record in ICC tournaments, Kohli has managed to score a total of 5 runs from 3 matches so far. This has raised questions if Kohli should open alongside Rohit or not, or should he move back to his usual no. 3 position.
Kohli enjoyed immense success while opening the batting for RCB in IPL 2024 as he won the Orange Cap for scoring 741 runs in 15 matches. The management went ahead with the opening combination of Rohit and Kohli, leaving out Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, this move did not pay any dividends as Kohli is yet to register a double-digit score in the tournament. There have been arguments that the pitch of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York has been tricky as many batters have struggled to score runs.

Dube shows confidence in Kohli
Dube, while speaking to the media in the post-match press conference, did not seem to be worried about Kohli's form despite his slow start.
"Who am I to talk about Kohli? If he hasn't got runs in three games, he may well get three hundreds in the next three and there will be no more discussions," all-rounder Dube said at a press conference. "We all know his game and how he plays."
Kohli has been India's top-run scorer since the 2014 T20 World Cup. However, the 35-year-old has managed scores of 1, 4 and 0 in three innings so far against Ireland, Pakistan and the USA. Saurabh Netravalkar became the first bowler to get Kohli out for a golden-duck in the T20 World Cup and before that it was the first time when Kohli departed for a single-digit score against Pakistan in the tournament.
