CHELSEA, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Police are looking for a woman who was caught on camera kicking puppy kennels and then slapping another woman in the face at the CitiPups in Chelsea.

It happened around 3:45 Saturday afternoon at the store on 8th Avenue. Emilio Ortiz, the store manager, told PIX11 News the suspect also spit at the customer after hitting her.

Ortiz, who recorded the incident on his cell phone, said the woman came in alone.

"All of a sudden, she kicked the first kennel, and I yelled at her to stop, and then she kicked it a second time, a third time, did it even harder," Ortiz said.

"We want to have her apprehended; that was she's not going around hurting more people because the lady she hit ended up bleeding, and she was really distraught. She hit her pretty hard," he said.

Police said the victim who was hit has filed a police report. Detectives investigating the assault were at the CitiPups store on Monday afternoon.

There was no property damage to the kennels, and the puppies inside were not physically hurt.
