It is the end of another NFL offseason week, which means it is a good time to check in with the Arizona Cardinals' division rivals in the NFC West. What has been going on with the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams?
Below are a few stories from the last week about the 49ers that Cardinals fans should know.
49ers add veteran kicker
With the struggles of kicker Jake Moody last season, the Niners added veteran kicker Greg Joseph. Joseph has been in the league since 2018 but has bounced around a bit.
First tight end in 49ers Hall of Fame
The 49ers have had some impact tight ends over the years. They currently have George Kittle and, in the past, had Vernon Davis. But one of their greats from the 90s when the Niners were winning championships is finally getting honored. Brent Jones will be the first tight end to enter the 49ers Hall of Fame.
Brocl Purdy contract details
After the news of Purdy's five-year, $265 million contract extension, now we have some of the details. Purdy has more than $115 million fully guaranteed through 2027. After that, the Niners have an out if they need to. It is a fairly team-friendly deal.
Preseason slate set
Like the Cardinals, the 49ers originally announced their preseason opponents but did not have the dates and times set. They, like the Cardinals, will face three AFC West teams. Their dates and times were set this past week.
Purdy the most underrated
Despite his huge contract extension, ESPN named Brock Purdy the most underrated quarterback in the NFL.
