NEW DELHI: Former
England
captain
Michael Vaughan
on Monday came up with a hilarious two-worded reply while rating
Pakistan
's disastrous
T20 World Cup
campaign on a scale of 1 to 10.
Last-edition's runners up Pakistan suffered an early exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup after losing their opener to tournament debutants and co-hosts USA followed by defeat against arch-rivals India.
Pakistan registered their first win against Canada, and concluded their campaign with a win over Ireland, finishing at third place in Group A.
'Super 8', Vaughan took a jibe at Pakistan team, while replying to a query on X - Rate Pakistan's World Cup campaign on a scale of 1-10 - raised by a Pakistani content creator.
"We have a good bunch of players. We've to go home, chat and see where we lack, and then come back. Couldn't finish off close games, as a team we weren't good as a team," Pakistan skipper
Babar Azam
said at the post-match presentation on Sunday.
Babar assessed the team's showing, highlighting that their batting performance was subpar. However, he recognised the strength of their bowling efforts.
"We finished well. We took early wickets in the bowling. In the batting, we did not do well, but we took it home with the tailenders. Bowling was good as conditions suited our fast bowlers. Batting, we made a few mistakes, we had chances to win against the USA and India. If the team needs me to open, I will, and if they need me to bat 3, I will. Whatever the team situation suits, I will do it," Babar added.
