Vaughan responds to Hawk-Eye inventor's 'uneducated' swipe

NEW DELHI: Joe Root's second innings LBW dismissal involving

DRS

(decision review system) became a big talking point during the fourth India-England Test in Ranchi.
With the England camp hitting out at the technology and demanding abolishment of the umpire’s call, former skipper

Michael Vaughan

too jumped into the debate, slamming the Hawkeye technology and termed Root dismissal via DRS a 'shocker'.

Paul Hawkins, founder of the

Hawk-Eye

then hit back at ‘uneducated’ Vaughan comments and dismissed England's outburst at the dismissal.
In his latest response to Hawkins' swipe, Vaughan now has asked for full transparency and demanded Hawkeye to show exactly how the operation works.

Hawkins, earlier, shrugged off all the suggestions around DRS and said that the correct decision was made by third umpire Joel Wilson in overturning on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena's call in Root dismissal.
“The commentary, I think, is a little bit uneducated. It is unfortunate from Vaughan, because, obviously fantastic player, really enjoyed watching him play, and a great commentator, very entertaining. But I think it’s a responsibility to the game, in terms of journalism. Perhaps a little bit more preparation in terms of his role as a journalist may help him explain what’s happening to the huge fan base of cricket so that what he writes is factually correct. In the same way as Hawk-Eye has an obligation to be factually correct, perhaps journalists do too," Hawkins said in the 'The Analyst' podcast.
India already have an unassailable 3-1 lead in the 5-Test series.
The fifth and final game will commence in Dharamsala from March 7.
