In North Bend, Washington, a woman named Amy Holt experienced an unexpected visitor that was a little too eager to make itself at home. A large bear, captured on Holt's home security camera, made a bold attempt to enter her house through the door designated for pets.
The clip shared on Facebook shows a curious scene as the bear investigates the back door of Holt's residence. With a determination that could rival any persistent houseguest, the bear tries looking at the windows before turning its attention to the small door.
The caption accompanying the video detailed the bear's antics, noting how it "pushed on our window in a couple spots" and spent considerable time trying to work out the mechanics of the doggie door, even reaching into the house.
“The bear is back, but tonight he’s trying to break into the house. First, he pushed on our window in a couple spots, and then proceeded to spend some time trying to figure out our doggie door. He was actually reaching inside the house. Our dogs never barked, even though he was making quite a bit of noise with the doggie door. We keep yelling at him and making noise, but it doesn’t seem to faze him much,” reads the caption.
Take a look at the video:
The small door proved to be a formidable barrier for the bear, which was unable to fit through the small opening. Attempts to push through the windows were also unsuccessful. Holt shared with KOMO-TV her acceptance of such encounters as part of life in North Bend, expressing that living alongside wildlife is one of the joys of residing in such a picturesque area.
