US university team visits Vizag university for collaboration in academics, research

VISAKHAPATNAM: An

academic delegation

from the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA visited GITAM Deemed to be University on Thursday for joint academic and research activities. The delegation headed by VCU dean Dr Mohan Gupta interacted with GITAM officials on possible on potential

collaboration

in the areas between the two institutions which include exchange of faculty members for research, consulting and lecturing, exchange of students for study and research, exchange of educational materials and academic publications and joint research publications.

While interacting with VCU team, GITAM pro vice-chancellor Prof Y Goutham Rao briefed about the GITAM’s vision and strategies. He mentioned that the university is actively implementing the government’s new education policy and equally focusing on research. He informed about the university science research infrastructure and research policies. The VCU team has shown a keen interest to join hands with GITAM to strengthen the intellectual base.
GITAM School of Science Dean Prof VS Krishna, School of Technology dean Prof Ch Vijaysekhar, School of Pharmacy dean Prof Jagattaran Das, academic affairs dean Prof Radhika and international student affairs director Dr KP Kishan participated in the discussions.
