NEW DELHI: Union home minister
Amit Shah
will on Saturday inaugurate a programme to enable fast-track immigration for pre-verified travellers who are either Indian nationals or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
Shah will launch the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at the
Indira Gandhi International Airport
here.
FTI-TTP aims to revolutionise travel experience of Indians returning from abroad and OCIs entering India, making it faster, easier, and more secure.
This initiative showcases the government's commitment to enhance travel convenience and efficiency for everyone.
Eligible individuals will need to apply online and submit their
biometrics
(fingerprint and facial image) along with other required information as specified in the application form. Registration under FTI will be completed after necessary verifications and confirmation of eligibility. Applicable FTI-TTP processing charges must be paid when submitting the application.
The application shall be submitted only after the non-refundable processing fee has been successfully paid. The processing fee will be Rs 2,000 for adult Indian nationals, and Rs 1,000 for minor Indian nationals and $100 for
OCI cardholders
.
Applicants will be registered after their identity has been successfully authenticated through mobile OTP and email verification.
Approved applications would receive a message to schedule an appointment for providing their biometrics details.
Applicant may provide their biometrics at designated international airports in India or nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) office as per prior appointment schedule. Biometrics are compulsory for completion of the application processing.
Applicant's passport should have a minimum validity of 6 months while applying for FTI-TTP. Membership of the programme will be co-terminus with passport validity. Applicant needs to provide current residential address to avoid the rejection of application. FTI registration will be valid for a maximum of five years or until the validity of passport, whichever comes first.
