EDISON, N.J. (PIX11) -- Over 200 senior citizens are out of their homes Tuesday after a four-alarm fire broke out at the Inman Grove Senior Center.
Mayor Sam Joshi initially reported it as a fatal fire, but gave an update late Tuesday night, saying the patient regained a pulse in what he called a "miracle."
The fire started around 6 p.m. in a resident's room on the second floor in the C wing of the building, according to officials. 97 firefighters responded.
Two people remain in critical condition.
Mayor Joshi says the seniors are staying at a local hotel and that they will be attended to. The Red Cross is also providing assistance.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
