DUMBO, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Thousands of toy elephants will parachute from the sky for the sixth annual Dumbo Drop in Brooklyn Friday evening.
The toy elephants will be dropped with parachutes from rooftops on Washington Street, between Front and Water streets, in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Dumbo Improvement District’s annual Dumbo Drop event is raising money to support two local public schools.
Tickets to view the Dumbo Drop have sold out, but people can still attend a free party during the event at the Dumbo Archway.
The all-ages party goes from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event will feature a beer garden, food from local restaurants, a “bedazzling extravaganza” and a kids zone.
