Tourist drives with kids on car roof, cops register FIR

PANAJI: Mapusa police on Thursday booked an unknown driver of a Telangana-registered sports utility vehicle (SUV) after he allegedly allowed some children to sleep on the roof of the vehicle while he was driving.
The incident took place on Tuesday at the popular

Maddani tourist spot

at Parra in Bardez taluka.
Police said that the incident came to their attention after a video of the incident surfaced on social media.

Police said that they have registered a first information report (FIR) against the driver under sections 279 (rash driving) and 336 (endangering life of a person) of the Indian Penal Code (

IPC

).

Police also said that they have to verify whether the parent of the children or another person was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
