Torso found in Bronx apartment building: NYPD

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A human torso was found in an apartment complex in the Bronx on Tuesday night, according to the NYPD.

Police found the torso while conducting a wellness check at 979 Summit Ave. at around 8:30 p.m., authorities said. EMS pronounced the individual dead at the scene.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York will determine the cause of death. There are no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing, police said.
