ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (PIX11) – Over 3,000 residents in New Jersey are without power Thursday morning as a storm brings heavy rain and gusty winds to the tri-state area.
PSE&G reported nearly 300 power outages around 6 a.m. Around 15,000 customers in New York are also without power, according to Con Edison.
Neighborhoods in Englewood were dark as crews worked to restore power. A massive tree came down on East Forest Avenue and wires were seen strewn in the middle of the road.
Crews are also working to clear multiple downed trees on Route 4. Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes is warning residents to be cautious because trees are heavier now that they're blossoming.
A facade also collapsed in North Bergen.
Residents are encouraged to check road conditions and NJ Transit before heading out for work. Train service is experiencing disruptions due to downed power lines, officials said.
