NEW YORK (PIX11) --- Around 5,000 people braved the chilly temperatures to take part in the New York Road Runners Manhattan 10K in Central Park on Sunday morning.
The 3rd annual run pays tribute to Manhattan as well as the iconic New York City taxicab.
It is one of around 60 races hosted by New York Road Runners every year.
Friends Ray Atherley from the Bronx and Anna Sompolski from Brooklyn ran it together.
"I haven’t done it before. I love Central Park so if I can get into one of the races, I’ll always do that," Atherley said.
