NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City was spared from heavy snow accumulation from the storm in the tri-state region Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
In Brooklyn, less than an inch of snow was registered for the entire borough, and only a few neighborhoods within the five boroughs received an inch of snow.
These are the New York City neighborhoods that received an inch or more of snow:
The Bronx
- East Tremont (1 inch)
- Mott Haven (1 inch)
Manhattan
- Washington Heights (1.1 inch)
Queens
- East Elmhurst (LaGuardia Airport) (1.3 inch)
Staten Island
- Tottenville (1 inch)
On Long Island, there was not a single neighborhood that registered an inch of snow, according to AccuWeather.
Upstate New York was also spared from a blanket of snow. Chester in Orange County was the only city that registered more than an inch (1.7) of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
