NEW YORK (PIX11) – As we prepare to head into the new year, New York City has revealed its top baby names for last year.

The reigning champions Liam and Emma held onto their top spots as the most popular names for boys and girls, respectively, according to the New York Health Department.

This marks the seventh consecutive year that Liam has been a top choice for boys and the sixth successive year that Emma is the most popular choice for girls.

In 2023, 382 babies were named Emma while 743 were named Liam, according to New York City birth certificate records.

Mia and Noah came in at number two for favorite baby names in the five boroughs. Below is the full list of the most popular baby names for last year.
