NEW DELHI: With just a mere one percent chance of Gujarat Titans making it to this year's IPL playoffs, new skipper
Shubman Gill
is hoping against hope that his side will make the top four.
Currently languishing at the bottom of the table, the last year's finalists Titans chances are all but over of making it to the playoffs.
However, mathematically, they are still alive and not yet eliminated from the top-four race like Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.
Showing hope that his side might still make the cut, Gill, at the toss against Chennai Super Kings on Friday came up with a cheeky response to a Ravi Shastri query, saying they will try hard in their remaining matches.
"There's 1 percent chance of qualifying, so we are going to try hard for that," Gill said at the toss.
"The mood (in dressing room) is like any other match, we as a team believe in doing the best we can," Gill added.
Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and elected to bowl against Titans on Friday.
CSK made one change, bringing in Rachin Ravindra in place of Richard Gleeson.
GT made a few changes with injured Wriddhiman Saha making way for Matthew Wade and Kartik Tyagi making his debut in place of Joshua Little.
