NEW YORK (PIX11) – A winter storm could bring rain and snow to parts of New York this Thanksgiving.
Rain is expected to shower New York City starting around 3 a.m. and continue through Thursday morning, according to PIX11 meteorologists.
Despite the downpour, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is expected to march on. The rain will likely taper off in the evening, leaving behind chilly temperatures.
Further up north, a winter storm watch and hazardous weather outlook are in effect for parts of New York, including Monticello, Oneonta, Binghamton, and Syracuse. Upstate could see heavy wet snow with accumulations of up to 7 inches.
The National Weather Service warned that an arctic outbreak across the central and southern parts of the U.S. could impact travel throughout the holiday weekend.
