has categorically dismissed a video circulating online in which he appears to endorse a
gaming application
promising easy money. Tendulkar clarified that the video is
fake
and expressed concern about the rampant
misuse of technology
.
Taking to his
social media
platform, Tendulkar, widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the sport, posted a message urging people to report such misleading content.
The video in question features Tendulkar discussing the purported benefits of the gaming application and suggesting that even his daughter uses the platform.
"These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers," Tendulkar, 50, stated in his post.
The cricket icon emphasized the importance of social media platforms being vigilant and responsive to complaints. He highlighted that swift action from these platforms is crucial in preventing the spread of misinformation and
deepfakes
.
The incident underscores the challenges posed by the spread of misleading content and deepfake technology, urging individuals and platforms to remain vigilant against such misuse.
