NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Conditions have slowly moderated over the last few days around the tri-state area, and temperatures are heating up.
Temperatures started out in the teens last Tuesday, crawled up into the 20s Wednesday and Thursday, and then rose above the freezing mark on Friday and yesterday.
A continuation of that is expected today. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 30s and low 40s, just about where we should be for this time of year.
Skies will also gradually clear out after some early-morning cloudiness. One note though is that winds will increase later today, and gusts over 25 mph are possible.
Look for temperatures to stay on the seasonable side for tomorrow. Afternoon highs will be around 40 degrees.
The region will then have a weak storm system approach the area on Tuesday. A light snow shower is possible during the morning hours, but nothing more than a dusting is expected.
Once the snow moves off-shore however, temperatures will take a tumble. Afternoon temperatures will only be in the upper 20s, and we could fall into the teens by evening. A few more snowflakes are possible on Wednesday.
