Teens appeared intoxicated before fatal stabbing in Queens: NYPD

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- The teen who allegedly stabbed 17-year-old Sara Rivera in Queens Wednesday night is facing murder charges, according to the NYPD.

Police say the 15-year-old suspect and Rivera appeared to be drunk before getting into a fight in the crosswalk near the 46th Street-Bliss Street subway station in Sunnyside.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Rivera in the right side of her neck, puncturing an artery, police said.

The 15-year-old was taken into custody at the Flushing-Main Street subway station, which is the end of the No. 7 subway line, according to authorities. Police did not release the teen’s identity.
