BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – Another teen is wanted in connection to a Bronx subway shooting that left an innocent bystander dead and five others wounded, NYPD Commissioner Katz Daughtry announced in a Tweet on Saturday.
“Thou shalt not kill,” the tweet by Daughtry read. “Please take a look at this flyer. On Monday, February 12, during rush hour, this person opened fire on the subway killing a New Yorker. We need your assistance. Help us keep our transit system safe.”
Maurice Stewart, 15, of the Bronx is wanted in what authorities believe was a gang-related shooting.
Bullets erupted Monday at about 4:35 p.m. on the northbound No. 4 train platform at the Mount Eden Avenue subway station. In total 19 bullets between three alleged gang members were exchanged, police stated.
Obed Beltran-Sanchez, a 35-year-old Mexican immigrant, was shot and killed. Five other victims were also shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A 29-year-old woman was struck in the face and neck, officials stated.
Earlier this week another teen, a 16-year-old suspect, was apprehended at his Bronx apartment. The teen is allegedly a member of the D-block gang and is expected to be charged with murder, officials said.
Stewart, the 15-year-old from the Bronx is wanted for murder, according to the wanted sign tweeted by the NYPD Commissioner.
