QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 16-year-old was injured after riding on top of a subway car in Queens, according to the NYPD.
The teenager was found on an F train platform with leg injuries Saturday around 8:52 p.m. at the Briarwood Subway station, according to police.
He had been riding on top of a northbound F train then fell off as the train pulled into the station, police said.
The teenager was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
Last week, a 15-year-old boy was injured while he was subway surfing in the Bronx, according to sources. He fell off a train along the No. 5 line between Gun Hill Road and Pelham Parkway, sources said.
In 2024, at least six people died subway surfing, according to police data. It was an increase from the year before when five people died subway surfing.
