PARK SLOPE, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A 16-year-old girl was with a group of people in a subway tunnel when she was fatally struck by a train in Brooklyn Tuesday, an MTA source said.

The girl was hit and killed by a subway train near the 4th Avenue-9th Street station in Park Slope around 5:10 p.m., according to the FDNY.

The train operator saw a group of four to five "kids" running on the catwalk in the tunnel and applied the emergency brakes, the MTA source said. However, the girl was struck by the train and later found dead.
