QUEENS. N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 19-year-old suspected of assaulting two NYPD officers in Times Square was arrested after allegedly shoplifting at Queens Mall on Tuesday, police sources said.
Investigators released a video on Wednesday showing three of the four people who allegedly stole $608 worth of clothing from the department store.
The incident occurred around 5:33 p.m., and one of the suspects allegedly punched a loss prevention employee in the face when they were confronted, authorities said. Authorities report that the victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.
Darwin Gomez Izquiel, 19, has been charged with robbery and petty larceny in connection with the robbery.
Izquiel was one of the initial suspects released without bail after he was taken into custody in connection to the assault on two NYPD officers in Times Square on Jan. 27, according to police sources. A 17-year-old was arrested and charged on Tuesday in connection with the assault.
Body-camera footage released last week showed the chaotic lead-up to a brawl between a group of migrants and police.
Eight people have been arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities are now looking for four more suspects.
