are not that of the Indian team's

victory celeebrations, but of

hurricane Beryl

that has hit the Caribbean city, leading to a shut down of the airport and resultant delay in return home of the new T20 world champions.
An ANI video on social media platform 'X' shows downpour in the city accompanied by strong wind leading to cancellation of flights and a complete shut-down in the city.

"Hurricane hits Barbados, airport shut down until further order. Curfew imposed in the city from 6 pm, all stores and offices shut down.

India defeated South Africa in a pulsating final of the T20 World Cup by seven runs on June 29 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados to become the world champions in the shortest format after a gap of 17 years.

India won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007 under MS Dhoni's captaincy. Rohit Sharma joined Dhoni as the second Indian captain to achieve the feat.

India made 176 for 7 and then restricted South Africa to 169 for 8 in the final over the match to clinch the trophy.
Virat Kohli was named the 'Player of the Match' for his knock of 76, while fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was crowned 'Player of the Tournament'. The Indian bowling spearhead took 15 wickets in the tournament.
