Tamil Nadu’s annual credit plan fixed at Rs 8 lakh crore for FY25

CHENNAI: An

annual credit plan

of more than Rs 8 lakh crore has been fixed for Tamil Nadu under the priority sector lending for the

financial year 2024-25

. It is an increase by 21.8% when compared with the previous fiscal of 2023-24 at Rs 6,63,993 crore.
State finance minister

Thangam Thennarasu

released the annual credit plan for 2024-25 during the 178th State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting for Tamil Nadu organised in Chennai on Thursday, an Indian Overseas bank (IOB) statement said.

IOB is the convenor of SLBC in Tamil Nadu.
During the meeting, key agendas under the priority sector advances were discussed with a focus on agriculture, MSME lending, educational and housing loans.
Senior officials from the state government, RBI, NABARD and banks also participated.
The SLBC meeting reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders to foster financial inclusion and economic growth in the state through concerted efforts in priority sector lending, the statement added.
