It was not love at first sight for actor Taapsee Pannu, who married her long-term boyfriend and badminton player, Mathias Boe, on March 23 this year. In a recent interview, she shared how she took time to decide whether Mathias is the man she wants to spend her life with. However, after meeting him, she felt a sudden sense of "security and maturity".

"There was a lot of testing and a lot of me being sure. It was not like a love-at-first-sight situation, for me at least. I took time to test if it’s really practical... the feasibility of the relationship was important for me," Taapsee told Cosmopolitan India as she spoke about what attracted her to Mathias Boe.

The 'Dunki' actor said that though she was always fond of Mathias and respected him, she took time to fall in love with him. Taapsee added, "Falling in love didn’t happen in a month or instantly. It is a fact though, which I keep repeating in most interviews about him, when I met him I felt like I had met a man. I had dated so many boys before him, and suddenly, I met a guy who didn’t feel like anyone I’d been with before."

She continued, "So, there’s this sudden sense of security and maturity, which was so evident that I felt like ‘okay, you’ve finally found the man’."

Taapsee, who was already in awe of athletes who play for their country, was floored by Mathias since he was an Olympics winner.

"I think the fact that he is an athlete and someone who had won at the Olympics for a start... half the job was done there (laughs). I have always been very impressed and in awe of athletes who play for their country and play under extreme pressure without getting affected. I have loads and loads of respect and admiration for them," said Taapsee.

Taapsee and Mathias had a private wedding ceremony on March 23 in Udaipur. The party was attended by only close friends and family. Anurag Kashyap and Kanika Dhillon are amongst the few celebrities who attended the wedding. Her 'Thappad' co-actor Pavail Gulati shared a photo from the wedding which also saw comedian-actor Abhilash Thapiyal in attendance.

On the work front, Taapsee has 'Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba', 'Woh Ladki Hai Khaan' and 'Khel Khel Mein'. She was last seen in director Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki', alongside Shah Rukh Khan
