QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) - A suspicious package holding a potential explosive device was found in Queens Tuesday afternoon, forcing a building evacuation, according to the NYPD.
Police later determined the object was inert, according to the NYPD.
A blue shoebox showed up at a building on Queens Boulevard just before 12 p.m. Tuesday containing a slew of brown sticks, around one inch in diameter, taped together with various colored wires protruding from the object, according to the NYPD.
The NYPD's Bomb Squad responded to the scene the object was transported for further investigation, police said.
