NEW YORK (PIX11) – A man accused of killing a woman at the SoHo 54 Hotel earlier this month was indicted by a grand jury in Arizona Tuesday related to two more murder attempts, according to Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell.
Raad Noah Almansoori, 26, faces attempted murder, aggravated assault and attempted sexual assault charges related to attacks on two women in Phoenix and Surprise on Feb. 17 and 18, according to the County Attorney’s office.
The two attacks follow a high-profile homicide connected to Almansoori in Lower Manhattan on Feb. 8 that the man bragged about as he was getting arrested in Arizona, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny.
The suspected killer has Arizona and New York City officials feuding. On Feb. 21, Mitchell refused to extradite Almansoori to New York because the city’s bail laws are too lenient, officials said.
A representative of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office said Mitchell’s political “games” were “deeply disturbing.”
“I think it’s safer to keep here and to keep him in custody so that he cannot be out doing this to individuals either in our state or county or anywhere in the United States,” Mitchell said.
Almansoori has an “extensive” criminal history in Florida, Texas and Arizona, according to police.
In New York City, Almansoori stands accused of killing 38-year-old Dinesse Oleas-Arancibia, who was found dead in a hotel next to a bloody iron, according to the NYPD.
Oleas-Arancibia’s son had reported her missing to police, according to the NYPD.
“Denisse was a mother full of so much life and opportunity who leaves behind two sons who now have to go on without their loving mom,” loved ones wrote on a GoFundMe for Oleas-Arancibia’s family. “Denisse’s life was taken away too soon.”
