QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- The man who allegedly stabbed five people in a spree of random attacks in Queens does not have a criminal record, police said.
Jermain Rigueur, 27, was arrested Wednesday evening and has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbings, according to the NYPD.
The first known stabbing in the spree happened on Jan. 8, police said. The last three attacks happened within one hour Wednesday morning.
The stabbing victims include four men and a woman. All of the victims were expected to survive their injuries, according to police.
Rigueur allegedly used a hunting knife in the attacks, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said. The victims had no connection to each other and the attacks appeared to be unprovoked.
Police said Rigueur works as a greeter at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn.
