NEW YORK (PIX11) - Sunday will be a sunnier day across the Tri-state after Saturday's disturbance further weakens and shifts offshore.
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-50s with a thin layer of high clouds, and a slight breeze.
Monday's weather continues to look promising for the solar eclipse in the afternoon. Some high clouds will start to move in during the day, but they should not block the total viewing of the celestial event that begins at 2:10 p.m. and peaks out at around 3:25 p.m. at 90% obscuration.
While it will not be a total eclipse, we will see a noticeable dimming of the light around the time that it peaks. While viewing the event, it will be comfortable as temperatures approach the lower 60s.
Tuesday's temps are expected to reach the 70s in the city and surrounding areas. But by Wednesday, a wet trend arrives and looks to remain in place through the end of the work week.
