MURRAY HILL, Manhattan (PIX11) – Chef Alex Perez is most at home at the grill, showing off his richly marbled steaks at the heart of the restaurant called Medium Rare.
For brunch, Medium Rare serves up steak and eggs in a variety of ways including scrambled, poached, or on a hash for benedict.
Banished is the English muffin for eggs benedict, and replaced with a hybrid base of sourdough on the outside and baguette on the inside. The recipe was developed for presidents staying at the Watergate Hotel.
When it comes to other brunch favorites like french toast, Chef Perez soaks sourdough bread in a secret concoction overnight. After frying it to perfection, it’s artfully plated with berries, syrup, and grilled chorizo.
At the weekend party table, guests can start with a yogurt parfait, fresh fruit, and a light salad before diving into steak-centric main courses. Part of what makes it all particularly good is the house's secret sauce.
No brunch is complete without a bottomless beverage, which is the philosophy at Medium Rare. Among their suggested top drinks are the screwdriver, a classic mimosa, or a Bloody Mary, all of which are unlimited and have no time limit when you order.
“We want the people working here to have fun and we want the guests to have fun and what’s more fun than a bottomless brunch,” said assistant general manager Dan Kriss.
Bottomless brunch at Medium Rare is $39.95 per person, including drinks.
