MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A man allegedly choked and punched a subway rider during a hate crime attack on a Manhattan train in May, police said Monday.
The suspect allegedly grabbed the man, 35, by the neck and punched him in the chest on the A train while it was pulling into the West 125th Street subway station on the Upper West Side at 4:30 p.m. on May 25, according to the NYPD. The suspect allegedly hurled anti-LGBQTIA+ comments during the attack, police said.
The assailant then ran out of the subway station, and remained at large as of Monday, according to the NYPD. The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
