Steve Kerr Makes Jimmy Butler Injury Statement After Warriors-Rockets Game 4

Monday’s Game 4 matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets was a crucial one for both sides.

With a victory, Golden State would take a 3-1 series lead heading back to Houston for Game 5 while Monday’s game was basically a must-win for the Rockets.

It was a back-and-forth game throughout as neither team was able to open up or hold a lead for most of the night and it also got chippy between the two sides in the first half.

Despite that, both sides calmed down in the second half and it was the Warriors who came out with a crucial 109-106 victory following an incredible defensive effort by Draymond Green along with clutch free throws by Jimmy Butler.

Butler led the way for the Warriors with 27 points, five rebounds and six assists despite being listed as questionable heading into the game due to an injury.

Of course, the Warriors superstar forward suffered a pelvic and glute contusion late in the first quarter in Game 2 after taking a hard fall on a rebound attempt.

He was then sidelined in Game 3, which the Warriors won, but was able to make his return despite fighting through pain on Monday.

After Monday’s victory, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made a massive statement regarding Butler’s injury.

“If it were the regular season, he’d probably miss another week or two. But it’s the playoffs and he’s Jimmy Butler,” Kerr said about Butler’s injury.

This is a major statement by Kerr and one that does not come as a surprise due to Butler’s intensity.

It was clear throughout Monday’s game that Butler was still in a lot of pain because of his injury but that did not stop him from being arguably the best player on the floor as he willed the Warriors into a victory.

Butler and Golden State will now look to end the series on Wednesday in Game 5 in Houston with a victory to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
