NEW DELHI:
Ecuador
's President
Daniel Noboa
has declared a
state of emergency
across the country, including the prison system. This decision comes after a "extremely dangerous"
drug lord
managed to escape from a highly secure cell, triggering unrest in multiple penitentiaries. "I have just signed a decree for a state of emergency so that the armed forces have all the political and legal support in their actions" against these "narcoterrorists," Noboa said on his Instagram account.
