NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders pacer
Mitchell Starc
produced an absolute ripper to send opener
Travis Head
packing for a two-ball duck in the
IPL Qualifier 1
clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Producing a scorcher in the very first over of the game, Starc destroyed Head's sticks as his off and middle stumps laid flat on the ground.
The absolute beauty from Starc, which was a full delivery around off, got a hint of late outward movement. Head, not looking to hang around, went full force at the ball, leaving enough bat-pad gap. As the ball sneaked through, it smashed middle and off stumps.
It was a second nought in a row for Head after left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh got him for a golden duck in SRH's last league game against Punjab Kings.
Starc, who was bought by KKR for a record Rs 24.75 crore in the December auction last year, has had a see-saw season.
In the 12 patches prior to Qualifier 1, the Aussie picked 12 wickets at an economy of over 11.
KKR finished the league stage at the top of the points table with 9 wins in 14 games.
