SRK’s ‘Dunki’ mints Rs 1.24 crore in advance booking, trails behind Prabhas' 'Salaar'

Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Dunki' has already earned Rs 1.24 crore in advance bookings and sold 33,770 tickets on the first day. Despite the hype, it trails behind Prabhas starrer 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' which earned over Rs 1.5 crore in advance bookings. Trade analyst Sumit Kadel predicts that the next 3 days will be crucial for 'Dunki'. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 'Dunki' stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' is helmed by Prashanth Neel and features Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

As per the reports, 33770 tickets of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ have been sold out in total on the first day, for 2836 shows in Hindi.
Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ on the other hand, has earned over Rs 1. 5 crore in advance booking, which includes Rs 80.30 lakh in Telugu, Rs 21.03 lakh in Malayalam, Rs 1.76 lakh in Tamil, and Rs 1900 in Kannada. In Hindi, 972 tickets were sold for ‘Salaar’ for 67 shows, and minted Rs 2.06 lakh for the same. So far, 51,280 tickets have been sold across 867 shows for the movie. The film has garnered ₹1.05 crore through advance bookings.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel shared that the upcoming days will be crucial for ‘Dunki’. “Dunki Initial pre-sale starts on a remarkable note. Film has sold 10K +tickets at national chain multiplexes. Non national chains showing good movement too. If the momentum continues then Dunki will challenge top films of 2023 in terms of final advance booking. Next 3 days will give a clear picture,” Kadel’s post read.

Prithviraj Sukumaran expressed his excitement about their film ‘Salaar’ releasing alongside Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan's film, stating that as a film lover, he appreciates the scenario. He also mentioned his enthusiasm for having two massive films by renowned filmmakers, featuring major stars, and being completely contrasting in various aspects like the story and narrative.
