and BJP
cadres
celebrated the
victories
of their parties, while the
headquarters
of the
AIADMK
, which failed to win a single seat, was silent.
At Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters, the
celebrations
started around 10am with cadres distributing sweets and setting off fireworks. Later in the evening, chief minister M K Stalin arrived and greeted cadres and functionaries.
Cadres of the Tamil Nadu Congress, part of the DMK front, too were upbeat.
At Kamalayalam, BJP workers exploded firecrackers after it became know that the NDA would crossed 273 seats, the number required to form a govt at Centre. Earlier, the mood was grim when it became evident candidates of the front were losing in all constituencies in TN and Puducherry.
There were a mere 20 cadres at the AIADMK headquarters, there eyes glued to the television set for the election results.
