Special postal cover released on Bhadrachalam Seetharama temple in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Centuries-old and historic Sree Seetarama temple (popularly Dakshin Ayodhya),

in Telangana was honored by the Telangana Postal Circle by releasing a special

postal cover

.
Telangana is poised to become the second state in the nation to unveil a commemorative postal cover featuring Lord Ram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier introduced commemorative postal stamps (CPS) dedicated to the renowned Ram temple, which was officially inaugurated on January 22 in Ayodhya.
On Sunday, Minister of State of Communication

Devusinh Jesinghbhai Chauhan

unveiled the special cover at a program held at Dak Sadan, in Hyderabad. The holy shrine, Bhadrachalam is located around 300 kilometers from Hyderabad, situated on the left bank of the Godavari River and dedicated to Lord Rama.
The special cover carries the artwork of Lord Rama with Seetha in a seated posture and Lakshmana, the image of the Bhadrachalam temple in the background, and comes along with a Brochure containing brief information on centuries old Sree Seetharama Chandra Swamy Temple, Bhadrachalam. For special cancellation of Postage, Temple design itself is available as a cancellation.

After releasing the postal cover, Union Minister, Devusinh Chauhan said “The postal department is the second largest government organization after the Indian Railways which has completed

Karmayogi

training for more than 4 lakh employees on the Karmayogi Platform.”
The postal department is serving and changing the socio-economic life through 1.64 lakh post offices in the country and Telangana Circle has opened 58 new Post offices in the current Financial Year, added minister.

Special Cover, priced at Rs 60 & Rs 45 without cancellation along with a detailed Brochure will be available for sale at all the Philatelic bureaus (all Head Post Offices) in Telangana from Monday and online from February 8.
P V S Reddy, chief postmaster general, Telangana circle, postmaster general, head quarters region, T M Sreelatha, and regional passport officer, Hyderabad, J Snehaja, attended the event at Dak Sadan.
